Master of Ceremonies Duties

  .
  In general, to be responsible for smooth flow of reception, working with caterer and other service providers as to schedule of events.
  Be present as guests arrive, and show honoured guests to reserved seating, if applicable.
  Have guests sign Bride's Book and inform the guests about the reception schedule and the facilities and any particular rules regarding the reception hall.
  Announce arrival of wedding party.
  Arrange receiving line, if applicable.
  Know seating arrangement for the head table and direct seating.
  Introduce head table guests, parents, and any special guests present.
  Read emails and letters, if applicable. This may be done after dinner.
  Cake cutting ceremony may be at this time but usually occurs following dinner.
  If desired, minister or appropriate person may say grace at this time.
  Announce food service, and, if buffet style, direction of line up and order of tables.
  After dinner, introduce the guest giving the toast to the Bride.
  Introduce the Groom to reply to the toast.
  Introduce the Best Man, who gives the toast to the Bridesmaids.
  Call up any other scheduled speakers and announce open microphone, if applicable.
  Announce cutting of wedding cake.
  Announce bar opening, if applicable.
  Announce Bride and Groom’s first dance and other opening dances. This may be done by the DJ.
  Announce throwing of bouquet and garter, if applicable. This may be done by the DJ.
  Be aware of departure time for Bride and Groom.
  Announce last dance and arrange guests in circle or archway for send-off of Bride and Groom if applicable. This may be done by the DJ.
  Help parents remove gifts, flowers, cake etc.
